EyeCare Partners - Buyer Spotlight
EyeCare Partners was founded in 2015 when private equity firm FFL Partners acquired Clarkson EyeCare and several other larger, predominately optometry practices. FFL Partners was one of the first groups to enter the vision care space and did so with some very large acquisitions.
EyeCare Partners was recapitalized by private equity firm Partners group in early 2020.
EyeCare Partners has grown aggressively across optometry and ophthalmology since 2015. It is likely the most evenly weighted between optometry and ophthalmology within the larger vision practice management space, with a large number of both practice types. We do not track optometry practice acquisitions, but have counted 21 ophthalmology acquisitions. EyeCare Partners does not disclose some of its acquisitions, so the number may be higher.
EyeCare Partners has a fairly national focus and operates practices in the Northeast, Midwest, South, and Southwest regions. Its initial concentration was in the Midwest and the company has grown from there. EyeCare Partners has less density in specific areas than some of the other management companies.
