Private Equity Investor ShoreView Industries Enters Ophthalmology, Acquires California Retina Associates

Find me on:

Minneapolis-based ShoreView becomes the latest private equity investor in ophthalmology practices and surgery centers.

ShoreView Industries acquired California Retina Associates (“CRA”) in January 2019. CRA is a leading thirteen-physician group with its own ambulatory surgery center and offices in Chula Vista, La Mesa, and El Centro, California.

ShoreView follows in the steps of Quad-C Management (which acquired NJRetina) as the second private equity investor to enter the ophthalmology market with a major retina subspecialty practice acquisition.

This new partnership is further confirmation that the private equity community now views retina practices as valuable part of the continuum of care, with their own unique strengths and growth opportunities.

ShoreView Industries and California Retina Associates are expected to grow organically and via acquisition of practices in Southern California and the surrounding region.
